About the artwork

"Maison Margiela couture 2022", "Versace 2023 spring RTW" or "Balenciaga Haute Couture 2022" - the titles of the unique pieces by Naja Conrad-Hansen already reveal that the artist has a close connection to the world of fashion. In the works from the year 2022, her fascination for fashion is once again manifested - for the fabrics and materials, design ideas or sources of inspiration such as the animal fur in "Paper carousell leopard". They reflect the craftsmanship on which haute couture is based, as well as unbridled creativity. So Naja Conrad-Hansen sends us on a journey through different cultures and centuries and inspires our own imagination in a wonderful way.

About the Artist

Naja Conrad-Hansen, half Danish, half Finnish, graduated from Copenhagen's Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2003 and has been working as an artist and illustrator in the Danish capital ever since. In addition to the customer-oriented cooperation with labels such as Adidas or Louis Vuitton, she devotes herself to freelance oil painting and ink drawings. According to "Lürzer's Archiv", the specialist magazine for the creative industries, she is one of the "200 best illustrators worldwide", her work can be found in over 30 books, including the award-winning children's book "Drømmeprinsessen" ("Dream Princess"), which is published in the context of a competition of the Copenhagen Art Academy and the book publisher Gyldendal. Conrad-Hansen was strongly influenced by a stay in Berlin in the 1980s, where she lived in a caravan and discovered the lively underground scene of the walled city. But the 1920s, with their dazzling characters and stories, are also clearly noticeable in her current works. Her work has been in numerous group exhibitions.
